The weather is bad, so you’re stuck inside your house, bored and watching the rain, what to do when you don’t know what to do?
In my case, rainy days are special, I like to enjoy the cold and stormy weather once in a while, even though activities are limited, there are different ways to have a good day even with the rain hitting our window.
1) A book: reading is always a good company, both on sunny days and rainy days, so I recommend you to immerse yourself in some incredible story. I like to accompany reading with a tea and some cookies, or a piece of my mom’s orange cake.
One of the books I most enjoy reading during rainy days, was The Analyst by John Katzenbach, is a disturbing story that gives a twist to the relationship between doctor and patient. The author of this book invites us to read a thriller full of unexpected moments and a sublime narrative, which will keep us tense and nervous, making us not want to stop reading this masterpiece.
You can see some of my favorite books in this post:
Do you have any book that you liked and want to recommend? I’ll be uploading another post about books that I want to read, so you can help me and send me some recommendations.
2) Find a good movie: what better way to spend a rainy day than watching a movie? You can prepare something to eat, some snacks, sit on the couch and relax, to decide what kind of film to see, think what gender is best suited to your mood, do you feel like watching a drama and crying until you do not have a tear left to cry? Or maybe you feel that what you need is a good comedy to spend a time full of laughs.
I love dramatic movies, I love crying, I know it’s weird, but I really enjoy dramatic movies. One of my favorites is Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, what a movie! You laugh, you cry, you get angry, it’s so incredible, that you can’t stop watching it, the characters cross the screen, especially the protagonist Mildred Hayes, a true warrior. If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend it totally!.
3) Watch a series: You can start a new series or catch up with all the ones you left in the middle. Whenever I say I’m going to start a new series, for some strange reason I end up watching The Office, even if I’ve already seen all the seasons, but that doesn’t matter, I’ll never get tired of Michael Scott, or Dwight Schrute. I should make a post about their best quotes, I think that’s what I’m going to do.
About the series, I can recommend many, but among those I liked, the best were Orange is the new black, Game of thrones, Vikings, Narcos, Cable Girls, Suits, The Good Place, Peaky Blinders, Fargo and Taboo, among others.
I’m about to start watching others, one of the ones I’m most interested in watching is You, starring Dam Humphrey, which is enough motivation to start the series.
4) Take a nap: although doctors don’t recommend napping very often, rainy days are incredible for that, is there anything more relaxing than falling asleep while you listen to the rain?
So take some time for yourself, relax and rest, you deserve it!
There are a lot more things to do on rainy days, but these are my favorites, what do you think? If you have any other idea, or want to recommend something, you are welcome!
See you soon!
